Here is a short introduction on how to play poker.

  • Between 2 and 10 players can take part in a game (or as many as desirable in a tournament)
  • The position as dealer moves along the table. All players take turn at dealing.
  • The 2 players to the left of the dealer are small and big blind. This means that they have to put a certain amount (small blind less and big blind more) into the pot before the game even begins. All other players can choose whether they would like to take part after the cards have been dealt.
  • The hole cards are distributed two every player. These are two and they are dealt face down.
  • The game can begin. The player to the left of the big blind starts. He or she can choose to fold, call or raise. Call means putting the same amount as the big blind has to the pot.
  • Every player is then to choose, in turn, whether to fold, raise or call the highest prior amount.8. The second round of betting begins with the first remaining player seated to the left of the button. The betting resumes, clockwise, with each player having the option to check (if no bet in front of them), bet (or raise if a bet before them), call or fold.
  • Having completed the first round the flop is then flipped onto the table. These cards are the community cards and are three in number.
  • The first player still in the game to the left of the dealer get to start. He can choose to check (which means not to raise, it is like calling without having to put more money into the pot), fold or raise. Next player is possibly also presented with the alternative calling.
  • The next turn comes, which means a new community card is placed on the table.
  • The third round of betting is like the second.
  • Having completed the third round of betting the last community card is placed on the table, the river.
  • The last round of betting is commenced by the first remaining player to the left of the dealer.
  • The cards are then showed first by the person the last raised. If no one raised the first remaining player to the left of the dealer starts to show his cards.
